Until 1998, World Orphans funded the creation of approximately 2 or 3 orphanages per year. The organization was funding the creation of more than 100 orphanages per year by 2005. By 2006, the organization had opened more than 500 orphanages spread out over 46 countries.〔 World Orphans also runs orphan prevention, transition, and rescue programs.
